David Kalmusky is a multi-platinum producer, songwriter, guitarist, engineer, and mixer based in Nashville, TN.
Noted for his work with artists including Shawn Mendes, Keith Urban, Meghan Trainor, Justin Bieber, Carrie Underwood, Journey, Joe Bonamassa, Tenille Townes, Mickey Guyton, John Legend, Vince Gill, John Oates (Hall & Oates), and Motley Crüe, his work has garnered more than a dozen Billboard #1’s as well as 37 Billboard top 10’s and counting.
A 3rd generation music maker, David’s father, Kenny Kalmusky was one of the original band members of “The Hawks” with Levon Helm, Richard Manuel, and John Till in 1958. Kenny went on to make records at Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, NY and Nashville, TN in the late 60’s with the likes of Ian & Sylvia, Todd Rundgren, Cowboy Jack Clement, Ronnie Hawkins, Jerry Reed, and many others.
Outside of his own producing, David is a trusted engineer for some of today’s top producers including Jacquire King (Mutemath, James Bay, Kings Of Leon), Glenn Rosenstein (Madonna, U2, Talking Heads, Ziggy Marley), Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin), Rob Fraboni (The Band, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones), Bob Rock (Metallica, Aerosmith), and Greg Wells (Katy Perry, Adele, One Republic).
David most recently partnered with Journey keyboardist Jonathan Cain to build Addiction Sound Studios. Nestled in the center of the Berry Hill district of Nashville, this is where David hosts the majority of his writing, production, tracking, and mixing work.
