David Kalmusky is a producer, songwriter, guitarist, engineer, and mixer based in Nashville, TN.
David’s massive multi-diamond, gold & platinum, ACM, CMA awarded body of work as of 2026 has amassed more than 17 No. 1’s, 38 Top 10’s, 12 Grammy nominations, and over 40 Billion streams, for his work with artists including Carrie Underwood, John Legend, Shawn Mendes, Keb’ Mo’, Taj Mahal, Warren Zeiders, Justin Bieber, Nate Smith, Elle King, Joss Stone, Parmalee, Mickey Guyton, Mötley Crüe, Meghan Trainor, Keith Urban, Journey, Jelly Roll, K. Michelle, Lucinda Williams, Lawrence, John Oates, Icon For Hire, The Fray, to name a very few of the many.
A 3rd generation music maker, David’s father, Kenny Kalmusky was one of the original band members of “The Hawks” with Levon Helm, Richard Manuel, and John Till in 1958. Kenny went on to make records at Bearsville Studios in Woodstock, NY and Nashville, TN in the late 60’s with the likes of Ian & Sylvia, Todd Rundgren, Cowboy Jack Clement, Ronnie Hawkins, Jerry Reed, and many others.
Outside of his own producing, David is a trusted engineer, mixer and/or guitarist for some of the biggest producers on the planet including Dave Stewart (Eurythmics, U2, Stevie Nicks), Jacquire King (Mutemath, James Bay, Kings Of Leon), Glenn Rosenstein (Madonna, Talking Heads, Ziggy Marley), Kevin Shirley (Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Led Zeppelin), Rob Fraboni (The Band, Eric Clapton, The Rolling Stones), Bob Rock (Metallica, Aerosmith), Greg Wells (Katy Perry, Adele, One Republic) and Dann Huff (Kane Brown, Brett Young, Riley Green)
As of 2026, David’s multi-million dollar writing / production / mixing facility, “Addiction Sound Studios” has moved into and taken over part of the historic Masterfonics building on Music Row in Nashville, having transformed the famous Tom Hidley designed and built Mix Room into a music production oasis, where he currently focuses on writing and producing as a signed songwriter to Jonas Entertainment Group. David as well sits on the board of directors for the MSMA (Muscle Shoals Music Association) hosting additional music production spaces, and an artist accommodation / writer retreat property in Muscle Shoals Alabama as part of his creative process.
